The UMA3 project and some of its major outcomes were successfully presented during the 7th International Conference of Engineering Against Failure (ICEAF VII) that was held across June 21–23, 2023, at the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses on the Saronic island of Spetses, Greece.
The aim of the Conference is to provide a forum to present interdisciplinary work dedicated to: the design against engineering failure, the implementation of appropriate guidelines against failure, the development and application of concepts and technologies to prevent of failure, the use of both, novel and established approaches, technologies, and tools for failure analysis, as well as the deep understanding of the underlying failure mechanisms and the identification of the failure root causes.
The UMA3 presentation, entitled “Minimizing Porosity in 17-4 PH Stainless Steel Through Cold Pressing and Sintering for Improved Resistance to Static and Dynamic Loads”, was successfully delivered on day 1 of the conference, by Tamás Mikó, with the contribution of Dionysios Markatos, Konstantinos Koulouris, Enrico Troiani and Zoltan Gacsi.
